Welcome to Hinsdale

Enjoy a welcoming stay on the borders...
Hinsdale Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast and Self Catering Accommodation

We are a family run B&B and have been established for 16 years, regularly hosting guests including medical professionals, patients and visitors from the UK and all around the world.

We believe the origins of Hinsdale Farmhouse date back to the 17th century, probably as accommodation for farming livestock. The oldest feature must be the two half-timbered walls in the centre of the building, the later parts exhibiting exposed beams and timber panelled walls. Our home is the result of many changes over the years and has a wealth of character.

Part of our unique offering is our proximity to the RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital, the main entrance being just across the road. We also have secure off-road parking, free wireless internet, and a large, mature garden which guests are welcome to enjoy - especially in the warmer months!

    The Local Area

      Oswestry – Positively Buzzing…

      Oswestry – Positively Buzzing…

The vibrant border market town of Oswestry sits between the patchwork plains of Shropshire and the hill country that is Wales.

Since The Middle Ages Oswestry has been a magnet for trade from both sides of the border. From wool to cattle, the markets have brought riches and visitors to this busy town.

Nowadays the goods may be more diverse but the streets still come alive on market days. Listen – can you here the sounds of trade? Sometimes Welsh, sometimes English, accents local or from further afield, our little town positively buzzes!

      Testimonials

We stayed at Hinsdale Farm in 2011 for a weekend and enjoyed a lovely visit.  We had a great meal out at Brooks Around the Corner in Oswestry, and went to the nearby Chirk Castle and it’s gardens.  We were made to feel very welcome by Bill and Carol and will definitely be returning soon.

My wife and I stayed at Hinsdale Farmhouse whilst attending Llangollen International Eisteddfod earlier this year. What an experience, Llangollen was awash with colour and culture. Bill and Carol Harding at Hinsdale were fantastic hosts.
